... it was very hard trying to juggle my work, classes, and my home life but I eventually found a way to make it work for me. I am extremely grateful for the lessons that I have learned while at UA GranthamWhen I started at UA Grantham, my island home of Guam was hit with COVID-19. Part of my job in the military is decontamination. While starting my degree and trying to get the hang of my classes, I was tasked with teaching hundreds of local government and federal employees on the proper techniques of decontamination pertaining to their job to ensure that they remain in a safe work environment and make it home to their families. At first, it was very hard trying to juggle my work, classes, and my home life but I eventually found a way to make it work for me. I am extremely grateful for the lessons that I have learned while at UA Grantham and how I have been able to apply it to my everyday life.Maylea M., BBA in Business Administration

I've always told my three boys to finish what they start, whether it's work or school.About 10 years ago, I started studying at Grantham University for my graduate degree, but life got in the way and I had to stop going to school. My kids were young and I needed to focus on taking care of my family and my job. I've always told my three boys to finish what they start, whether it's work or school. But I realized I was being a bit of a hypocrite because I had started a master's degree myself and never finished it. Last year, when my oldest son began college, it hit me that I needed to finally complete what I had started. It was a tough journey, but it was important for me to show my kids what it means to be resilient and persistent. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world.Johnny B., MS in Information Management Technology

In August of 2022 I walked into the Rock Island County Historical Society for a visit and a volunteer mentioned they were looking for some younger people to volunteer there and help the society grow. A few weeks later I began volunteering at the historical society by primarily running their social media presence. I took an interest in the business aspect of the place and have offered to help rewrite some of their dated policies that they have as well as handled their accounting for a brief period. The increased social media presence has been credited to getting the word out about the existence of the society within the local community and it landed us a donation of an iconic item from an old bridge in the area from the contractors.Joshua R., BBA in Business Administration - Human Resource Management Concentration
